Supporting Workforce Emotional Wellbeing

Thanks to the generous funding we received during the Big Give campaign* at the end of 2023, we have been able to offer a fully-funded practical group coaching programme to enable some of our key nursing and midwifery communities to better support the psychological safety of their own workforces.

Our Nightingale Frontline® service launched in April 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to provide a support service for nurses and midwives across the UK.

At that time, our goal was to provide emotional well-being support for all nurses and midwives as they battled the unprecedented demands of the pandemic on a daily basis.

Today, nurses and midwives continue to manage the direct and indirect effects of the pandemic across health and social care, as well as ongoing challenges of seasonal pressures, staff shortages and emotional pressures that the professions can bring.

We have invited our Academy Members, Alumni Champions, Academy Fellows, Professional Nurse Advocates, International Nursing & Midwifery Associations, and Educators to attend the programme. After completing an online co-consulting module, participants will go on to attend a half day online group workshop where they will discuss the learning in more depth.

This new Co-consulting Facilitator Masterclass will enable us to reach as many nurses and midwives as possible. And those completing the programme will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to go on to facilitate supportive sessions in their own workplaces, using a problem solving approach.

We will continue to share updates on the coaching programme later in the year.

*The Big Give campaign raised over £22,000 from donations from our generous supporters and match funding from ShinyMind and Candis Club.
