Subject Expert Groups

The Florence Nightingale Foundation® Policy Unit establishes Subject Expert Groups to influence areas of workforce policy that are identified by our members as most significant to them as senior nurses and midwives working in a range of sectors.

SEGs include individuals who have personal and professional expertise in the area of focus and commit to working collaboratively to use our collective networks and influence to forward the policy agenda and contribute to the evidence base. SEGs have UK wide representation.

Our Priorities

Clinical Supervision
Subject Expert Group

Attempts to secure regular clinical supervision for nurses and midwives are longstanding. Despite this, a structure for sustained access to high-quality supervision is still far from a reality

Global Nursing and Midwifery
Subject Expert Group

The purpose of the Global Nursing and Midwifery – Subject Expert Group (GNM-SEG) is to determine, facilitate and co-produce culturally aware, leadership development programmes for nurses and midwives from ethnic minorities with a particular focus on international nurses working across the UK
