Subject Expert Groups

Florence Nightingale Foundation facilitates a number of Subject Expert Groups (SEGs) to create change on issues identified by our members, scholars, and alumni as most important to them as nurses and midwives working across a range of sectors and to better patient outcomes.

SEGs are comprised of individuals who have professional expertise or lived experience in the area of focus. SEG members commit to working collaboratively to use their collective networks to influence the policy agenda and contribute to the evidence base. SEGs have UK and global representation.

We currently have four SEGs:

Authentic Leadership
  • Authentic leaders are nurses and midwifes who use their uniqueness & originality as a strength and act with courage in challenging the status quo with the aim of creating inclusive environments by changing culture and breaking the glass ceiling.

Early Careers
  • The FNF Early Career SEG will be the vehicle that connects people to drive policy changes impacting the well-being, development, and status of early career nurses and midwives.

There will be an Early Careers Extraordinary SEG Meeting which will be held face-to-face on 15 May. Times for this meeting are to be confirmed.
