Jenny Halse MA, BN, RN-Child, Florence Nightingale Aspiring Nurse Director Alumni

Jenny is a registered children’s nurse and senior nursing leader with an expertise in Nursing and Non-Medical education and workforce development. She has held senior posts within large multi sited NHS organisations, Health Education England and a University. At the beginning of her career, she specialised in emergency nursing within several busy Children’s Emergency Departments.  Jenny left a senior role within the NHS in early 2022 and established Develop to Thrive her own company. Central to the purpose of the company is supporting the nursing and non-medical workforce to maximise its impact and enhance healthcare delivery in a sustainable manner. Workforce retention and wellbeing is central to the work that she does.

 

 

Through a range of different roles, she has applied her passion for improving patient care and nurturing the nursing workforce. It is her firm belief that the global healthcare workforce is central and pivotal to the health of the population. Jenny has had the privilege of working in both England and Scotland, she has also undertaken voluntary work and continues to support nursing teams in Uganda, Somaliland, Malawi and Myanmar.  She was part of the leadership team to develop the Pan-London Capital Nurse Preceptorship framework, which is the basis for the soon to be launched national standards. She has developed and delivered preceptorship, nursing leadership programmes and action learning sets in many different organisations both in the UK and internationally.

 

She has a Diploma in Tropical Disease, a MA in Clinical Education, is a Florence Nightingale Aspiring Nurse Directors Alumni. She is currently undertaking a coaching certificate with One of Many, a women’s specific coaching programme, aimed at supporting grass route leaders maximise their potential.

 

She holds a firm belief that Nurses need to be supported to look after themselves in order to be able to provide excellent care to their patients.
