Mike Collins RN

Major Mike Collins, Gp Capt Di Lamb and her husband Ewan are riding from Land’s End to John o’Groats to fundraise for a FNF Scholarship. That’s 1,000 miles in 14 days – an epic feat – and we’re so proud of them. Plus, FNF’s very own Director of Nursing and Midwifery Leadership Development, Lucy Brown, is joining them for part of the the ride.

FNF scholarships provide an excellent vehicle for nurses and midwives to support their leadership development, and in turn improve care for their patients. Now, the 2021 cohort of the Emerging Leaders Scholarship are looking to leave a legacy. The money they will raise from this incredible ride will go towards a scholars’ scholarship – it’s their way of paying it forward.

We spoke to Mike ahead of the ride and he shared the inspiration, planning and mental strength behind it.
