Aspiring Digital Leadership Programme

The Florence Nightingale Foundation is pleased to offer a self-funded leadership programme to aspiring digital career nurses, midwives and AHPs. These are professionals at ANY stage of their career who are looking to take their first steps on a digital career path and have aspiration to influence digital transformation.

This four-day virtual programme offers a supportive learning environment to develop leadership identity, capacity, and capability. Delegates will leave with the tools to influence organisational and patient outcomes at a local, systems, national and international level of health and social care delivery through digital transformation.

The programme will enable participants to:

  • Explore, define and develop their unique approach to leadership within digital transformation.
  • Prepare for future leadership positions which offer them the opportunity to exercise their knowledge and influence at a systems level.
  • Explore their role in maintaining the art of healthcare whilst embedding digital solutions into practice.
  • Develop skills in educating and engaging the wider healthcare workforce, whilst reiterating the need to retain clinical judgement and decision making by not becoming dependent on the technology or detached from the art of patient care.

Cost
The four-day virtual programme will cost £1,000 per delegate.

Places can be self-funded or funded by the employer.

You will also join the FNF alumni community and receive ongoing networking and leadership development opportunities through events, webinars, media engagement and policy thought leadership.

Programme Structure

The Leadership programme will be undertaken over four days (see timeline below) and includes:

Day 1
  • Personality Preferences and Performance in Teams (Delivered by the FNF Academy)
    Introduction to the Florence Nightingale Foundation and developing the cohort learning community. Utilising Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) we will explore how personality preference influences personal leadership styles and how awareness can enable the promotion of high performing teams.
Day 2 and 3 (two half days)
  • Presentation of Self: Presence & Impact (Delivered by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts)
    Practical approaches to developing confidence and clarity in the delivery of key messages for a range of audiences including the media.
Day 4
  • Leading Digital Transformation (Delivered by Jane Dwelly Vice President CHIME)
    Explore your role in leading digital transformation and consider next steps in your personal and professional development

Leading Digital Transformation
(Delivered by Jane Dwelly Vice President CHIME, 10am start)

Application Process

The application, shortlisting and selection processes will be administered nationally by the Florence Nightingale Foundation.

What you will need to demonstrate in your application form and interview:

  • How you will use the programme to work with others, learn from, and share experiences
  • How the programme will support your personal development plan (PDP)
  • How you will use the experience to improve patient and health outcomes
  • Your aspirations to develop as a leader
  • Support from your line manager to enable you to attend all learning sessions/opportunities as part of this programme (they need to complete the Sponsor form below)

Upon application, you are required to upload the following information:

  • Personal, employment and education information
  • A copy of your Professional registration documentation
  • An electronic photo of yourself (head and shoulders in high resolution)
  • A completed sponsor form (completed by your line manager) with authorisation to join the programme
  • Completed terms and conditions

Please note before application:

  • Applications that do not demonstrate commitment to the profession, improving patient and health outcomes, commitment to the Florence Nightingale Foundation Alumni will not be considered
  • Incomplete applications will not be accepted
  • Applications without line manager support will not be accepted
