Head of Policy and Influence

Lisa Plotkin joined the Florence Nightingale Foundation in June 2023 as its first ever Head of Policy and Influence.

Lisa is passionate about the transformative power of good health policy to change and improve people’s lives. She has almost 10 years’ experience working in a variety of health policy development and workforce policy roles, including at the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Public Health. She recently managed the health and care policy portfolio at the British Heart Foundation, working closely with NHS organisations, patients, and the wider health and care sector to improve outcomes for the millions of people living with heart and circulatory diseases across the UK.

Lisa’s vision is for the FNF Academy to be viewed as the ‘go to’ think tank for nursing and midwifery workforce related policy, raising the voices of nurses and midwives at a time when their leadership has never been more needed.

She holds a PhD in the History of Medicine and in her spare time enjoys reading and taking walks.
