About the Florence Nightingale Foundation
Who are FNF? What do we do?
The Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) supports and develops nurses and midwives as leaders, to promote health, improve care and save lives across the world. As a UK-based charity, we are working with nurses and midwives at every level of their career and across all health and care sectors. To read more about FNF and what we do, please see our About Us page here.Â
Does FNF ONLY work with nurses & midwives?
At FNF, our core mission, and charitable objectives, are specifically about supporting registered nurses and midwives. We do provide some programmes that can be accessed by other healthcare professions (for example, our online programme for Healthcare Support Workers here).Â

Please check the following steps have been followed. If any of the below is incorrect, this can lead to this error. Â

- Make sure all phone number fields are filled in with the correct format. Do not include any spaces in the numbers. Â

How can I sponsor one or more of my employees to complete a programme?
We have a number of programmes open for individual booking where CPD budget, or equivalent, can be used. Your employee would book the programme themselves and, as part of this, is asked for details of where the invoice should sent. You can view our current programmes here: Programmes For Individuals – Florence Nightingale Foundation.
If you want to commission a leadership development course for a group of your workforce (whether face-to-face, online or hybrid) then please visit our website to find out more: Programmes For Your Workforce – Florence Nightingale Foundation.
What happens if I cannot attend a date on my programme after I have booked it?
By accepting a place on a programme, you are agreeing to attend all required dates as outlined in the programme advertisement and we would expect you to attend all modules in order to complete the programme. If you have exceptional circumstances that prevent you from attending then please let us know at [email protected] with ‘Problem attending part of my programme’ in the Subject line.
Once I have a place, when do I get any further details?
Once we have accepted your booking, or your application has been successful, we will let you know by email, at the latest 6-8 weeks before the programme starts, in most cases before. The dates, mode of delivery (eg virtual, face-to-face) and venue will have been outlined on the programme page on our website when advertised. Further details will be sent by email prior to the programme starting.
How much does it cost to join an FNF programme and what is included?
Each of our programmes have different content and costs, some are sponsored and some can be paid for using your CPD, or equivalent, funding. You can check the details of the individual programme for information on this and on what is included. Please note that travel and related costs are not included within programme costs. If you are unsure on any details, please do contact us at [email protected].Â
Do FNF programmes count towards CPD hours or university course credits?
When you complete a programme we will provide a certificate confirming your participation and stating the number of hours of professional learning and development activities completed. This can be submitted as evidence of continuing professional development. Our programmes do not carry academic credits.
What will happen once I have applied for a programme?
This depends on the type of programme and deadline for applications. Please see the programme page for details.
What if I have specific accessibility needs?
We will always strive to meet your accessibility or dietary requirements (where applicable). There is space on the booking or application form to explain your needs – and also on the joining instructions once your placement has been confirmed.
How do I or my employer send payment if I am booking a place that will be paid for by my employer/CPD?
On completing the booking form you will be asked for information for invoicing, including the name and email address of the person that will be responsible for paying the invoice. We will then confirm placement and raise invoice for payment, which will be sent to the contact details you provided.
