  • Global Talent, Local Impact: Report findings, recommendations & reflections
  • Wednesday 18 November 2026
  • 12 – 1.30pm via Microsoft Teams

Join the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) for the launch of Global Talent, Local Impact, a new report on the experiences of internationally educated nurses and midwives in the UK.

Built on a UK-wide survey of more than 1,100 respondents and informed by an independent literature review, the report was developed with our IENM steering group and an advisory group of internationally educated nurses and midwives. It sets out findings and recommendations on how the UK can retain, develop and learn from this vital workforce.

We are delighted to be joined by the report’s authors, who will present the findings and recommendations:

  • Lisa Plotkin, Head of Policy, Impact, and Engagement, Florence Nightingale Foundation
  • Maranda Wheelock, Policy Associate, Florence Nightingale Foundation

They will be joined by members of the IENM steering group and diaspora leaders, who will reflect on what the findings mean for leadership and practice.

The session will be facilitated by Arlene Wellman MBE, Strategic Advisor, Florence Nightingale Foundation.

Who the webinar is aimed at:

  • Nurses and midwives at all levels, including internationally educated colleagues and those who work alongside them.
  • Ward/department leaders, matrons and senior nurse leaders.
  • International recruitment, retention and pastoral support leads.
