FNF leadership programmes are available in flexible online modules

At FNF we offer a range of delivery methods for our leadership development programmes. Through tailored online courses we can offer the same transformational approach as in our face-to-face programmes, but in a more flexible way, reaching larger numbers of people, whilst still providing space for networking and peer-to-peer support. This is the perfect opportunity to support leadership development and strive for clinical excellence, to improve motivation, well-being and retention of your workforce, in a cost-effective way.

Participants will be supported to:

  • Build personal resilience and confidence in speaking up
  • Develop their leadership style
  • Navigate healthcare delivery
  • Create positive change in the workplace
  • Understand how to progress their career

Our online courses receive consistently high satisfaction scores, and positive feedback from participants and their managers, something we are very proud of.

“I would highly recommended this course for registered nurses. It has equipped me with skills and knowledge that I will take into clinical practice. I hope to use the skills I have taken from this course to help me in my work place to be a better leader and vocalise issues I may have or to communicate better to staff.”

Available Courses

We have online courses aimed at specific groups of healthcare professionals, who often find development opportunities hard to find or to access.

“These programmes have supported our early career and internationally recruited nurses and midwives to build confidence, develop leadership skills and gain a clearer understanding of NHS systems and ways of working. Participants have provided positive feedback on the quality of the programmes and valued the opportunity to apply their learning directly within their clinical areas. Equally, line managers have also reported positive impacts, including improved confidence, leadership behaviours and engagement from participants. Overall, this investment has strengthened leadership capability, supported future workforce planning and contributed positively to staff engagement and retention..”

Course Outline

Each course consists of 30-40 hours of self-directed study over which takes place over several months. There are also three or four live webinars (these will be recorded so that participants can access them) and a mix of expert teaching, facilitation and peer-to-peer learning and networking.

The online learning is hosted on our customised Learning Management System – the Learning Hub. This is a secure platform that enables learners to access materials and ongoing support. The Learning Hub is also where participants can interact with each other and their facilitators.

Our online learning is interactive, with meaningful clinical narratives, using a wide variety of multimedia. Content can be worked through at a time that suits each participant.

“Thank you for the opportunity. I’m really looking forward to digesting all this information further, and putting much of it into practice. This course has encouraged me to think about myself as a leader in my current role, as well as the potential for future development.”

Midwife, Somerset
