Leadership development programme for emerging nursing and midwifery leaders working post-preceptorship
Our leadership programmes have been described as ‘transformational’ – and with good reason. We help develop, support and retain nurses and midwives by supporting and strengthening individuals, organisations and whole healthcare systems.
The Emerging Clinical leaders programme supports nurses and midwives working in patient-facing roles at Agenda for Change Band 5 to 6 or equivalent, across all sectors and all four UK-nations.
It enables participants to develop their individual and collective leadership identity, as well as creating a close network and sense of belonging.
The programme will equip patient-facing nurses and midwives with the skills and knowledge to meet the demands of modern health and social care leadership.
FNF has greatly improved my self-awareness and introspection. I am now more confident when communicating, particularly using active listening. The course is invaluable to all active and aspiring leaders.

Participants will:
- Develop the confidence and capability required to positively influence as leaders.
- Explore communication approaches which enable a constructive presence and wider impact.

- Have a psychologically safe space to facilitate decision making, hold ambiguity and process tensions.
- Develop an understanding of quality improvement methodology for instigating, embedding and measuring change within their local environments.
- Develop critical thinking attributes and a commitment to the value of evidence based practice.

I enjoyed the course materials and the delivery of the course. It was inspirational and made me want to become a better leader. It was great to meet different professionals and hear that we are all in similar boats.
