A three day leadership programme for aspiring digital career nurses, midwives and AHPs
The Florence Nightingale Foundation is offering a residential leadership programme for aspiring digital career nurses, midwives and AHPs. It’s aimed at professionals at any stage of their career who are taking their first steps on a digital career path and have aspirations to influence digital transformation.
The three day residential programme offers a supportive learning environment to develop leadership identity, capacity, and capability. Delegates will leave with the tools to influence organisational and patient outcomes at a local, systems, national and international level of health and social care delivery through digital transformation.
The programme is delivered in partnership with CHIME and will enable participants to:
- Explore, define and develop their unique approach to leadership within digital transformation.
- Understand career journeys and opportunities and prepare for future leadership positions which offer them the opportunity to exercise their knowledge and influence at a systems level.
- Explore their role in maintaining the art of healthcare whilst embedding digital solutions into practice.
- Develop skills in educating and engaging the wider healthcare workforce, whilst reiterating the need to retain clinical judgement and decision making by not becoming dependent on the technology or detached from the art of patient care.
- Network with, and learn from, others about different digital-related challenges and solutions.
- Work with colleagues and teams to support a culture where digital healthcare becomes ‘business as usual’.
Participants report the “life changing” leadership experience and its professional and personal impact. Participants report feeling more confident to speak out and influence improvements in patient care and health outcomes.
Location
The February 2025 programme will be in Liverpool (other locations may be available for future programmes).
The course has given me insight, not only into the digital world and how we can influence digital pathways and embrace digital solutions for patients and the workforce, but it has also given us a lot of holistic understanding about our presence, our impact and us as leaders in the field of healthcare.

Digital is everywhere in nursing. I’m a cancer nurse specialist and now a digital champion in my hospital. I’m the manager for patient-initiated follow-up of cancer patients. We can see real benefits to the patients of this digital protocolised cancer surveillance.
