Paul Boissier has spent most of his life working on or around the sea. After a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cambridge University, he joined the Royal Navy, mainly to learn how to navigate with the stars. His naval career started under water. He commanded 2 submarines and a surface ship before moving to the Ministry of Defence and senior appointments as the Chief of Fleet Support and the Royal Navy’s Chief Operating Officer.
Paul spent a year at London Business School studying for a Masters Degree in Business Studies. Paul then spent 10 years as CEO of the RNLI, modernising the charity’s internal processes, creating substantial financial efficiencies, and building a state-of-the-art lifeboat factory. He also initiated a global drowning reduction programme, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly in April 2021.
