Moriam has extensive experience in Professional Regulation having spent ten years as an Investigating Committee Chair and a Registration Appeals Chair with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, the independent regulator for nurses, midwives and nursing assistants in the UK. This work has given her a clear understanding and deep insight into the highs and lows of working in today’s nursing and midwifery profession and the sometimes-challenging nursing environments.
She is an experienced facilitator and trainer having designed and delivered numerous courses and training programmes throughout the UK, to Public, Private and Voluntary sector organisations. Courses included Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Train the Trainer, and various Leadership Training programmes.
Moriam is a skilled workplace Coach and Mediator having worked with various organisations throughout the country. These sessions provide participants with the time, safe spaces, and an empathetic listening ear. This ensures constructive discussions, an exchange of ideas, goal setting, solutions, confidence boosting and reflective practices.
She was a member of the West London Health Trust Board as a Non-Executive Director working directly with Board colleagues, Executive Directors, Senior leaders, and Trust staff to ensure the quality of the clinical services, implementing strategy and best practice, and overseeing the performance of the Trust. At the Trust, Moriam was also a Coach and Mentor for clinical and non-clinical staff, particularly those from minority groups. Moriam was a Diversity Champion and the Board Representative on interview panels for Senior Management roles to ensure Board oversite to ensure the integrity, diversity, and fairness of the interview process.
Moriam currently sits as a Fitness to Practice Adjudicator with Social Work England and she also sits as a Magistrate in the Family Court. Moriam also specialises in undertaking independent workplace Grievance Investigations.
