The Presention of Certificates, 2012

The Presentation of Certificates took place at Girdlers' Hall, London which was once again kindly hosted by The Girdlers' Company.

Dr Dan Poulter, MP Parlimentary Under-Secretary of State for Health PS (H) joined us for part of the event, he later said how much he enjoyed attending the ceremony and welcomed the opportunity to present the scholars with their well-deserved certificates.

As part of the event, a scholar from each of the Leadership, Research and Travel Scholarships gave a presentation on the outcome of their scholarship, highlighting the benefits to patient care arising from their scholarship experience.

Guests included scholars, sponsors and The Florence Nightingale Foundation Trustees who all had a wonderful time, particularly our scholars who relished the opportunity to meet their sponsors.

Daring, Caring and Sharing Campaign, St Bartholemew's Church, New York City, October 2012

On 21st October 2012, Foundation Chief Executive Elizabeth Robb attended the Daring, Caring and Sharing to Save Mothers' Live campaign launch and Florence Nightingale Commemoration Service at St Bartholemew's Church, Park Avenue, New York City hosted by the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health.

This was a beautiful service and Elizabeth was given a key role in the proceedings by reading a poem "The Flame of Florence Nightingale’s Legacy" and being part of the procession and candle lighting to signify the pass of knowledge.

The service highlighted the UN Millennium Development Goals and in particular MDG 5 which envisions a world where optimal maternal health is accessible by all.  We were delighted to be part of the service and to sign up to the initiative and wish NIGH the best of luck with the programme.

We also look forward to further collaborations with many of the senior nursing leaders from the USA and Canada met at the service.
